Titan arum is a rare and endangered plant that produces a large, stinky inflorescence to attract carrion insects for pollination. (Wikipedia) Taken at the Melbourne Botanic Gardens, 2012. Olympus XZ-1, f/3.2, 1/400sec, ISO-100, lens 24mm

Holy Moly that's huge. Must be able to smell that thing for miles (kilometers 😁)

To get this shot there was a queue a 'mile long' a the conservatory door, so I jumped to the entrance and asked the security guy if I may take a shot, just from the door, which I think was the best place to shoot from. It beat standing in the queue for an hour or more as only a limited number of viewers at a time were allowed in. And I avoided the stink!!!
