Why? Now that I'm approaching upcoming school I've thought of stocking up on this film for the color photo and printing courses... Since you can't print E-6 and that's all I shoot.
What's wrong with it?
i don't shoot much of this stuff anymore, but at times i used to shoot about 5-7 rolls of superia 200 a week (a few years ago).
i always liked it better than the other films around ( nice pallet of colors, great contrast ), and the price was right ..
i didn't get it through wals ( maybe sometimes sams ) but i mostly bought it through
hunts photo video's mothership in melrose mass.
it wasn't brand new / fresh off of the emulsion rollers but "short date" and sold for between 1-2$ a roll, i'd buy between 30-100 rolls at a time.
i shot it side by side with "the same film new" sent it to fuji to process and there was no difference between the negatives+prints.
since you will be printing / post processing it yourself in school i am sure you won't have any trouble adjusting the color pallet if it is too green
or red or whatever ...
i'm sure hunts still has short date film, they might be worth calling for the fuji / whatever else they might sell you for your "going to school stash"..
good luck!
