Nikon could probably sell as many as Leica does. Maybe more.

It appears I may have been mistaken. I thought Leica offered an ostrich camera strap. Perhaps they did in the past, maybe in connection with a limited edition camera. Currently, Leica only offers a couple of "ostrich look" camera straps. I checked Nikon's webpage, and they don't offer either ostrich or "ostrich look" camera straps, so they are really missing out on the market big time. They seem to be stuck in a rut with a lot of different black camera straps with "Nikon" emblazoned on them in bright yellow. I'm not sure whether "Nikon" glows in the dark or not. Anyway, there is no mistaking them.

It wouldn't surprise me at all. There is probably even a secret black market in kangaroo and alligator Leica straps. Nikon and Canon really have missed the boat on this one, plenty of bling buyers in their markets.

I would have never guessed that buying a Hasselblad could avoid all this stress and hand wringing.

Because the market for Hasselblad straps is pretty small compared to Leica and Nikon. And many Hasselblads are relegated to the studio, where a strap just gets in the way. But I have seen some exotic-looking coverings for the Hassy, and even a gold-plated one.

This M6 is very affordable. I just saved $1400 by buying it from the UK vs the USA.

The new affordable Leica is the one that you do not buy locally.

About 20 years ago, one could buy a Mamiya 7II from Robert White in the UK for about 30-40% less than it would cost here. But you had to go in knowing that Mamiya USA would refuse to touch the camera in the future. It's a gamble, but sometimes the rewards far outweigh the risks.

Leica has a worldwide warranty so that shouldn't be an issue.

I'm guessing you didn't buy it from Leica Manchester. There's probably a 'For Rent' sign on their door today.

Lol. Nope twas them! They made it very easy w no need for wire transfer. It really is a no brainer, use it a while and sell it for at least what you paid for it. Arbitrage.

I ordered one from Samy's. I'm weak, I am a sucker for beautiful things. Leica is worthy of support.

Looks like my wife is going to be getting a "price is no object" lunch at Wendy's for her birthday this year 😊

I’ll send mine to Don to de-clutter the rangefinder. 35 and 50 is all I need.

My first M6ttl, the one I sold because I wanted the higher magnification viewfinder, I occasionally had to get out the instructions to figure out what all the darn frame lines were. 35, 50 is most of my work.

What is the new film Hasselblad? IIRC the last film cameras they aka Fuji made was the H2

You can still buy a new H6D and use a film back with it. Not sure if they still make the film backs. Then again their film backs new cost nearly what a complete used V outfit costs...

I do not have a studio and I use the Hasselblad hand held.

You can buy a new film Hasselblad?

I can but I won't because I am all loaded up with lenses and the Hasselblad 503 CX and 903 SWC.
