I needed 2 tiny screws for my Mamiya press lens. Not only did Mamiya have them, but sent them for free. They deserve some credit both for having the part and not charging anything - not even postage. How many companies would have charged an exhorbitant amount to cover the administrative cost?

awesome. you most likely were kind to them in your communication. that goes a long way when you think about what they normally deal with.

i had a similar experience with toyo ( mamiya / mac ).
i had a hairline crack in a focus block on my toyo 45cx field camera.
i originally bought the part from them and was going to install it myself,
but i needed something ( don't remember what it was ) so i called them back. they had me ship my camera to them, they replace BOTH focus blocks ( front and rear standard ) upgraded the lockdown, calibrated everything, and returned my $$ for the part i bought previously. then they shipped it back to me wrapped up like a holiday gift and didn't charge me a penny!

high up on my "good company" list ..

Similar experience with Bruce Wehman, I lost a couple of screws on my 8x10, and he sent me a bunch of screws, free of charge.

MAC service has always been first rate with me.

I have a Polaris light meter with a 10 degree spot attachment. While on vacation I left the spot attachment on the meter, put the whole thing in my pocket. This genius move broke the foot off the spot meter. When I got home I emailed Polaris and told them it had broken owing to my own stupidity, and asked to if I could buy a new one. They sent me a replacement unit, the whole thing, without charge and in only two days. What can I say, they were great.

And the meter is first rate.
