My name is Tom and I'm new here. Photographed allot in the 80s, but with a break until for two years ago when I bought digital equipment. Sure is the digital easy and simple, but eventually the feeling of something missing in the images and image processing was often present.

For a year, I am now completely analogue again, and the next best is that I can now buy all the equipment I absolutely could not afford in the 80s.

My favorites are the Tri-X, Delta, Acros and Foma in Rodinal. And then print it on old Emaks, Forte and Agfa paper with moersch Eco 4812, and sometimes I play with bleach and selenium toner.

To refresh my skills in the darkroom I have read back many pages in this forum section. Amazing with so much knowledge in one place. I want to say a big thank you to all the writers who so openly shared their experiences.

I too have found that the digital revolution has allowed me to own camera that I used to dream about. Hence the ownership of the flagship camera from your native land.

Welcome to APUG, Tom. Glad you found us. That's a pretty cool first post.

I also did a lot in the 80s, but didn't do the digital diversion. Eased off the black-and-white for a while, then when Harman/Ilford committed to stay in the game I sort of went overboard building out a nice darkroom and filling out camera systems. You're right. It's hard not to pick up many of the things today we were not able to afford earlier.

Right now I'm servicing my darkroom/cameras hardware bucket list in preparation for an upcoming retirement. At that point all I want to spend money to purchase will be supplies. I'm looking forward to it.

I enjoyed your set of five photo uploads to the gallery. Nice that you are already a subscriber so that feature is available to you.

Yes, I am very grateful to be able to print on that paper. I made a bargain on the Swedish eBay, most old Emaks, Forte and Agfa from the 80s and 90s, all seems to work great. Probably I have papers for life.

The only thing that makes me a little frustrated are when I try scan the prints, I have big problems getting the digital copy to even get near the paper copy, but it dissolves I think. The most important thing is that I now have allot of fun with the analog

Almost all the equipment I dreamed of the 80s are in my possession now, even a darkroom in the basement
