I use TF-5 for film. I never do more than 2 35mm rolls at a time, so a but under 500ml is enough.
I keep one 500ml Nalgene (the soft, colorless kind) container for Fixer 1, and another for Fixer 2. Both mixed with distilled water.
I generally process at 71˚ - 72˚, 3 minutes for each bath, maybe a bit more.
I use a double water rinse between developer (Rodinal) and the fixer 1. The film is either Trix or FP4
I test Fixer 1 from time to time with Edwal Hypo check, and a clip test now and then - 45 seconds to clear in room light. I trust Fixer 2.

I notice something lately, after a few months of processing - both solutions, more with Fixer 1, have a fine black precipitate, not very much, but noticeable.
I have never seen this before and I've been using TF5 for years for film and printing, always 2 bath method. (I no longer print, but scan everything.)

I can filter this out, but it bothers me after never seeing it since TF4 and TF5 came out.

Any ideas?
