Tetenal Superfix Plus and Champion Amfix

Has anyone had experience of using either Tetenal Superfix Plus or Champion Amfix for fixing fibre base papers? ILFORD HYPAM is my default option but I'm interested to get views on these other fixers.

Amfix is quite similar to Hypam, it's an excellent fixer perhaps a touch more Rapid in its action. I used a lot of it over the years but reverted to Hypam simply because it was easier for me to buy. At one time I bought Amfix & Suprol in 25 litre containers.

I use Tetenal Superfix Plus and their odourless fixer with a range of FB papers (Foma, Kentmere, Forte and Adox) and it works fine. I give them one minute in the fixer and have had no issues.

Yes I saw that, which in part has left pondering what differences there might be between these fixers as HYPAM is almost double the price. Tetenal Superfix Plus is £12.64 from Firstcall for 5 litres.

Yes it would be interesting to know of any differences.

I have been using Agfa FX Universal from Silverprint at £10.27 for 5 Litres but they will not post it.

Tom, one minute in one fixer at 1+4. Don't appear to have any residual nasties.

I think it would be more accurate to say "the ILFORD
process using a SINGLE FILM STRENGTH fixer" That
I believe is what you have in mind.

Ilford also has a "process for SINGLE fixer" using
PAPER STRENGTH fixer.

I've a SINGLE fixer process which uses Very
dilute fixer one-shot. Dan
