Hello everyone. My name is Nancy and I am a returning Apugger. I actually searched this forum for my name and found that I introduced myself here a little over 10 years ago! (I got a kick out of reading my old introduction post.) I still live in small town Kansas, near Wichita, still working as an RN, now at a substance abuse rehab. I started my journey into photography quite a few years ago shooting film and loved the learning curve and the creative outlet. Along the way I got lured into the digital world where gradually it became more about the camera and less about having fun taking photos. I have a beautiful digital SLR that I have not taken a photo with in over a year because it's just too overwhelming to mess with all the settings! I believe that I probably have about 10000 digital photos floating on some digital cloud somewhere, most never have been printed:cry:. I am really excited about getting back into film photography and having fun again! I have a couple of film cameras and a stash of really old film in my deep freeze that I've been hoarding (I hope it's still good). I'm looking forward to browsing through the forums and galleries again. It's good to be back:smile:.

Welcome to APUG

Welcome back to the dark side!
Always great to have more women here.

Wow. A mid-2003 badge number really does place you into an elite group around here. I'm a noobie by comparison.

So glad you made it back. This time we're not going to let you leave...

(When I first saw your title I thought it was a tribute to Alvin Lee...)

Welcome back Nancy.

I agree with all others -- nice to see you're back into analog photography. From now on, when you want to know where your "RAW" files are, they won't be in a chip or a cloud, they'll be right there in your hand. And go use that frozen film -- should still be fine.

Welcome back Nancy.

Don't worry, you haven't missed a thing

Welcome back to the darkside, it's more fun.

Welcome back Nancy.

You'll find the same issues, the same posts and the same questions, just not as many of the same names. Thus is the nature of open forum discussion. Still, it's good to have you back.

Welcome back Nancy, I'm still struggling to understand the wonders of film photography after more than fifty years, I would hate to have to start getting my head around it all again if I took up digital.

Thank goodness you've returned!! We've waited and waited, and not posted anything new for 10 years. But, really, welcome back. Interesting about the number of digital files you've accumulated and not done anything with, and the consternation with the camera itself. It's ironic that some folks with digicams will look at my view camera as if it were the most mysterious thing in the world, while I'm thinking how much their circuit boards and auto-everything DSLRs make my hair hurt.

Ah, you are all so very nice. And thank you all for holding the forum while I was out galavanting. I do have one friend who is a filmie, I'll have to see if I can entice her to join up. I honestly did try to get back into the film world a while back, even signed up for a darkroom class to refresh myself. Unfortunately I was the ONLY one who signed up so they cancelled. Thank you again for the warm welcome back.

From 2003 to 2013 , I lost half of my hairs and all turned in to grey. Still dont have a decent camera , still did not process even a roll of film , kodachrome , ektachrome gone , there were two big economic crises in usa , obama is new president. Same 50 persons and few new ones air bombing the threads.

Welcome back to APUGland!:D
