Does anyone have any advice regarding this? Should I be concerned with film I order through the mail? I am Canadian and ordering from the States, I'm not sure if that changes anything.

Any ideas or experiences would be helpful, thanks. Also, is BH generally reliable, or should I go with Freestyle?

I have dealt with both, Freestyle more recently. The Arista papers and films, though not name brand, are good products and for the price should be considered. I use both and have some great results.

I have ordered film from Freestyle, B&H, and Adorama, no problems at all. In the warmer months I pay for faster delivery; usually I buy more film during the fall and winter than I need in the hopes I don't have to mail-order during the summer. (Living in a major city I shouldn't be mail-ordering film at all, but I do because it's easy.) Don't know if it makes a difference. I know of at least one online store that won't ship chocolates between May and September, but others do, I'm sure. No idea if packages going through the post are subjected to x-rays. I wouldn't think so.

I have film and paper sent up here monthly from Freestyle and there never has been a problem. Sometimes though when your order is more than $150 you can get charged for GST (Gouge & Screw Tax) It usually only takes 5 working days to get delivery.

You must consider that film is shipped to retail stores (always has been) on trucks that have no climate control. It has never been a problem. It is the long-term effects of temperature that can affect film, not the short term.

I've ordered film from the US on several occasions, including expired film from private sellers, and never had an issue with x-ray or heat damage.
