I have to be at a conference Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday so won't be getting any shooting done, but I still have to eat. I am tird of the chains and am looking for a different place to eat.

I want to stay away from Mexican, and have a hankering for seafood. Any Suggestions?

Don't know anything about Tempe... but my favorites are (if you don't mind driving a little)

Vincent's on Camelback www.vincentsoncamelback.com (Phoenix)

Michael's www.michaelsrestaurant.com (Scottsdale)

Binkley's www.binkleysrestaurant.com (Cave Creek, and IMHO the best)

Element's at Sanctuary www.sanctuaryoncamelback.com/content/elements.html (Paradise Valley)

You can never go wrong with the hotel restaurants (Phoenician, Hermosa Inn, etc.)

Seafood in particular:

Mastro's Ocean House (Phoenix near the Westin on Scottsdale Rd.)

Eddie V's (DC Ranch, Scottsdale)

Foster's (Shea & 101, Scottsdale)

Good luck, and let us know where you end up.

Rich

I had a friend that worked at Binkley's and went there one time. VERY fine dinning and great food. Expensive, yes.

Binkley's in Cave Creek... My favorite

Across from Binkley's and just up the hill on the other side of the street is a very good French Restaurant too.

Thanks. I shall print these out and check them. I think Bikleys is way out of my price range though.

There's the Heart Attack Cafe either in Tempe or close by, with fine burgers and staffed by dressed down nurses. It was all over the news about a month back or so.

Well, I am back, and have to say that I ate at none of the suggestions. I had to be "part of the team" which means I had to eat where the bosses wanted to eat. Chains again. Damn.

Thanks for the info anyway. I wil have to save them for when I go by myself.
