I am using Diafine which calls for a water stop bath. Should I use water the same way that I would use an acid stop bath (pour the water into the developing tank, agitate for 30 seconds, and pour it out) or should I do several changes of water for a shorter time periods?

Sometimes I drop the water altogether, but usually I give it 30 seconds for repeatability (and fixer preservation).

I use one (1) gallon of water and give the tray several water changes over the course on approx. 1 minute.
