I love to conduct my everyday business here in apug.org - but I don't think that is really approprieate and professional. For your case I will resolve all things here in this thread to make you happier and show my business principles

Will post again after the search. Don't worry about your free films. At least that is not my concern. I concern more about if you were a good customer or not. About 50% of boxes I sent has free films included and it now almost become my semi-standard routine for both delayed order and non-delayed orders. Sometimes I forget adding the freebies and I have to cut the packaging tapes and insert the free films and re-package the box. It takes times.

This morning I sent 9 boxes oversea and 7 of them have free films. Two of the nine have no freebies because the buyers ordered case quantity and there is no space to add the extra films. (so a hint to get freebies: order 90 rolls instead 100 rolls )

The extreme of adding free films was during 9.11 period. In two months after 9.11 I stopped shipping completely until situation cooled down. After 2 months' delay I added 50% more films to almost every order. The one can't wait and posted negative feedbacks got nothing other than being listed in my eBay blocked list. Surprise me most people actually happy and posted positive feedbacks, probably they don't want to deal with any package during the crisis too.

But no one should expect free films every time. I usually add 1-3 rolls or one propack into the box. But a lot of time just forget to do that.

If I've learned just one thing with ebay, it's caveat emptor/buyer beware. My one negative ebay experience I can attribute to my eager newbie status; I ignored the sellers negative feedback, and was ripped-off as a result. After numerous complaints to ebay, I managed to get him kicked-off the system,...for about a month. Being a high volume seller (i.e. revenue $$$ for ebay) it wasn't long before he was back up and running.

With one other ebay purchase, I found that the shutter required immediate servicing, and when I raised my concern with the seller, without a question, he kindly offered to reimburse me for a good portion of the repair costs. In my experience, attentive customer service equates to repeat customers, it's that simple.

These days, I always take the time to do a bit of research and ask all of the questions, before any bidding takes place. Actually, I never pre-bid anymore, but prefer to rely on auto-sniping. I find that this lets me make a much more rational decision about my max. bid price, and then can I relax and let the cards fall where they may.

As an active buyer for antique books I have made a few mistakes not asking question before the bid. The result is I received three books with each book missing 80-100 pages. Three purchases from three eBay sellers. I did not give them negative feedbacks even two of them reject my proposals of partial credit. I believe that is my own mistake plus a bad seller. Now I ask question every time if a seller does not mention that the book is complete without missing pages.

eBay case of the day: This guy sent me payment twice for the same item. I emailed him asking for instruction if I should refund one of the payment or if he want to double the quantity. No response from him for many days. Suddenly one negative feedback shown up today: "haven't recieced (his typo, not mine) anything, and have left many emails. i am very disapointed." Weired. Should I give this absent-minded buyer a negative feedback? I emailed him again today and right now still wait for his response and explanations.

He paid you thus completed his end of the deal. Leaving him a negative feedback would not be the right thing to do in this case as it would make you look like a jerk. Why not communicate with him and use the mutual feedback removal system for what it is designed for?

Thanks not a bad idea. I will wait for his side story.

Regarding feedback removal I remember eBay asks money for this kind of service and I don't like this. This means if someone is rich he can wipe out all negative feedbacks and just keep the positives.

mutual feedback removal is free, you might be thinking about the dispute resolution service offered by a third party.

I haven't forgot about your issue. But since that was 4 years ago there have been a few changes on the email software I used - Yahoo email, different versions of AOL, Comcast with the different versions of Outlook, and the biggest problem being the upgrades of three computers. As soon as I figure out where to look for I will let you know.

In a way it was resolved a long time ago. I thought I was buying 15 and received 10 plus attitude. Collect888 is the one blemish on my otherwise perfect ebay record -- 365 positive feedbacks and 1 nuetral from collect888 for challanging his practices.

I dealt with him awhile back. Totally screwed up order, lots of attitude (when he would answer email). Very obviously disorganized and not business-adept. He eventually got things cleared up and I believe him to be honest but it was one of the strangest sequences I've been through since eBay'ing started (I was there in the early stages). The film (TechPan) turned out to be just fine, by the way.

It is interesting to read Craig's comment - "one of the strangest sequences". Lots of attitude there but at least I see there are some fine words about "I believe him to be honest" and "The film (TechPan) turned out to be just fine". Fair enough.

By the way, when there is any attitude in my email exchange it always starts from the buyer first. It never, never starts from my end. Don't believe it? Check your old email archives. My rule is, using a Chinese old saying here, "treat the people the same way he treats you". You are polite, I will be nice. You are nasty, I won't be great.

Regarding Robert M. Teague, you are obviously worse than a jerk from your above rude post. Sorry I don't have any toleration for things like Robert M. Teague. Tolerate his act is a crime to a more civilized net sociaty.

I may disagree with him on non photographical subjects, but Robert M. Teague is as fine, fair and even tempered a gentleman as you are likely to meet.

mrcallow, because your transaction is too old (2001?) to figure out, I cannot give you free films right now. But if you buy from me next time, I will add 15 rolls of films free for you. But, please don't just buy one roll and want to get 15 rolls of freebie.

Hmmm...let me see if I understand correctly, John (mrcallow) made an order with you, you messed it up. When someone asked for his opinion he related his experience and you then came on this forum and said you will "fix" it. But at the same time you added John to your "blocked bidder" list because you dont want to "deal" with someone who had a negative experience with you because he is "hard to deal with". Checking your Feedback you always call the people who complain about your very tardy shipments "impossible" , "hard to deal with", etc, etc. You then come back and give the excuse of the transaction being "too" old...well then what took you so long to try and fix something you messed up? And now you want John to buy more film from you? I know John, and one thing he is not is being stupid...as the saying goes, "fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...shame on me!"

It seems you think if people demmand the product they paid for and which after 3 months they have not received or received differently than what was offered they are "impossible" and "hard to deal" with. Frankly, so far the only "attitude" I have seen has come from you. I definitly agree with Robert's opinion... If you were the last person to have film on earth, I would still not buy from you given the behavior you have displayed here.

That is your decision. I have no problem with that. I have tons of films but not depending on any dissatisfied buyer or dissatisfied group. And this unsatisfied ratio is currently at around 2%. I prefer my many more civilized buyers. I am actually busy enough and worrying about how to send films out as soon as possible without delays. So one less uncivilized buyer is one good relief to me.

I have 4,500 great feedbacks and this number is still climbing daily. I don't tolerate rude buyers and emails and I never give them including things like Robert M. Teague a break. And I don't worry about increasing a few negative feedbacks just because I dont want to tolerate those uncivilized acts or things.

I have my mistakes on eBay too. I always give apology for those mistakes straight forward without reserve and hesitation. But in any situation I dont tolerate uncivilized communications. If you are using any four-character words or other foul language in communication with me, you will get the same response as I gave to Robert M. Teague.

Good films with honest service will always sell. Remember there are good, silent 98% buyers coming back to my eBay store and my website www.collect888.com daily for those excellent and rare discounted films and papers like TechPan, Kodachrome 25, Panatomic-X, Agfa Pan 25, Verichorme, Konica Impresa, Fuji Acros, Polaroid 55 and 665, Kodak HIE, Kodak EIR, Kodak AZO papers, Ilford Fiber papers, etc. etc. etc. Do you think those will be stuck there just because a few naysayers here or there?

You are overestimates your 2%.

Sorry, but your 2% is wrong...looking at your feedback, in the past month you had 107 positive and 10 neutral+neg (I count neutral as negative with you, since you are one of those sellers who do not post feedback until feedback is posted to you, clearly people are afraid of retaliatory feedback, something you appear to do all the time). This is about 9%...in tha past 6 months you had 494 sales with 48 negative+neutral. Once again about 9%...this is a terrible track record for E bay. As we say in photgraphy, you are only as good as your last shot....

As you say, I choose to vote with my pocket book and you got thumbs down all the way, not because of your feedback, but for your actions in this forum.

Remember most of those 2% are a very lowly group of eBay. And again I have no problem with you not being my customer and I am truly glad about your wise decision. Frankly you may have been foolish for a while but at least this one I have to give you the credit.

I did not choose a "short" period, I chose the statistics presented by e bay...they tell the story very clearly. Buyer beware should be your e bay name..

After I told you I am glad you are not my customer to be, you wisely realized your pockets alone are not enough to make me worry. Now what can you do? Screaming aloud "Buyers beware"? Beware what? You are not even my customer. You try to damage someone's business just because argued with you?
