I have been playing around with TP in PyroCat-HD. The IE I have come up with is 75asa, 1:1:100 dilutions developed for 8 minutes. Normal agitation. Looks really good with great tonal range. I tried some at 400, 200, 100 and 50 asa.

My next experiment is to try using a green filter, a blue filter and then a green/blue filter to see if this will give me a closer to normal scenic representation.

Boy is that Tech Pan SHARP!

If you've experimented with TP and pyro please share your results.

Thanks, Eric

What format ?

Eric, Any previous time I tried to mix PMK Pyro and TP it was streak city. Are you using a JOBO? Expert drums? I had already been thinking along these lines as the PCat HD has solved so many other "problems". Perhaps I'll give TP another try.

Just used good old metal tanks and reels. I did a print last night of a VERY white building. I was amazed at the tonal range. Everything from white to black and lots of shadow detail. Definitely has it's own look, but certainly has applications. Worth continued efforts for sure. And sharp! Boy I didn't realize just how sharp that old 50mm Blad lens was.

When I get my new scanner set up I will post a scan. Not sure the shadow detail will show up, but I'll give it a try.

Jim & Eric:

I've had no streaking and/or non-uniformity of development problems with Pyrocat-HD and TP. I have heard of development uniformity problems with PMK, but have no direct experience.

I have stand, semi-stand and minimum agitation developed TP in Pyrocat-HD and have had very uniform results in all cases. However, personally, I find few subjects where I prefer the TP result over the results I obtain on the same subject with Efke 25 semi-stand developed in Pyrocat-HD.

When I am doing comparative testing, I usually use my Hassleblad (or my Hasslebladsky) and several backs loaded with different emulsions.

I have been unable to find a local retailer who stocks a blue/green filter for use with Technical Pan. Where did you buy yours?
