This is a silly quesiton, but why does the glue on some rolls of ilford 120 film taste like mint while on others it does not? It seems that HP5 and Pan F sometimes taste like mint, but other times they do not, while Delta 100 never does (by way, my girlfriend has confirmed this, isnt not just my imagination or something i ate before).

How old is your HP5?

I recall this from the past, but the brick of HP5 (marked Harman Technology) I have is not tasting that breath-fresh. Nor is my FP4.

We had covered this in a previous thread. It's basicaly Ole's fault. He is alergic to the scents. Ilford will not use "tastes" in their glue because of it.

Now how will photographers get that minty fresh breath?

According to another thread, the mint has been removed from new film.

I am starting a new pressure group LICFILM (the Local and International Campaign to Flavour Ilford Labels Mint) to force a re-think on Ilford's part...

Cheers, Bob.

Can I suggest that each film have a different flavour. HP5+ should be strawberry, (my favourite), delta 100, mint (I like it when I'm in the right mood,) SFX should be Marmite (some love it, some hate it) etc....

Chocolate......must have chocolate...

The flavors ought to be distinctively British. Perhaps Devon cream for fp4+ and Cornish pasty for hp5+? I realize that would make two flavors from the west country, so perhaps Yorkshire should supply the flavor for Pan F.

Fish and Chips for Delta 3200 films?

As I said on the other thread, I'd very happily settle for mint being reintroduced.

This is endangering the whole future of traditional after-dinner photography!

Simon don't lose that number

Me too, though I'd love Space Dust flavour-you know, that lurid orange stuff that was probably made from recycled plutonium and just exploded into a thousand expolding stars on your tongue man:D :D

Pan-F: Haggis. It's an acquired taste, but it's good for you and keeps you going.

C'mon guys, would you rather Ilford spent their RnD pounds/dollars on new films or new flavours?

It could take years to get the taste of black pudding just so, or the texture smoked kippers really nailed down.

Cornish pastry?

So what on Earth would that taste like a couple of years past the expiry date?

And think of it, Bob - Ilford could do a marketing tie-in with Altoids!

OMG, the possibilities are mind boggling....

Chocolate......must have chocolate...

And, Valerie, not to be denied - I see that here in NYC the good folks at Altoids are marketing a chocolate version. I shudder to think of what it must taste like - but "Leave No Chocolate Lover Behind" is clearly an Altoid policy!

SFX should be Marmite....
Rob

I've seen limited edition Guinness flavoured Marmite advertised recently. Two of my favourite (non-photographic) things combined in one product

Promo packs including a jar, three rolls of film, and an SFX filter?
