Hi,
my wife has a Canon Elan 7e that I use regularly. Using our Canon 50mm f/1.7 normal lens works just fine, but when I use our Tamron 28-75mm and 70-300mm lenses, I get problems with the shutter locking up, and metering doesn't work either (flash in broad daylight and those types of things).
Any suggestions? I tried putting new batteries in the camera. I've tried cleaning the contacts in the lens mount and on the lens. Still the same problem, and it's getting more and more consistent, to the point that it almost always locks up.
Since the Canon lens seems to work, I lean towards a problem with the lens. Has anybody else experienced this type of problem? Any ideas of what it might be? Is it time for a service on the lenses?
Thankful for help,
- Thom
