I came across this device that allows you to view inverted negatives on a video set. It has a colour balancing joystick with red green and blue, does anybody know if it shows some sort of values for each channel? Something that I could find a relation between those values and the CYM settings on the enarger head before printing?

Not really. I used one of these back in the day, they were all analog I believe, and rather low-res at that. No readout of color values really. If you want a color analyzer, the progammable one built into the Minolta/Beseler 45a head is superb.

thank you, I have a color analyzer which I love; colorstar 2000. I was thinking of using one of this just for reviewing which negatives to print and possibly get some indications on the filtration I might need for printing

I have one of the similar devices made by Fuji and occasionally entertain myself by viewing negatives. It’s fairly inconvenient to use. Once tried to sell it at a garage sale for $5 and nobody would take it. So I am stuck with it.

send it over!
Seriusly, why inconvenient?
