Hey all, dedicated Nikkor 50 fan here, and huge Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 Long-Nose fan. I recently picked up a 1.8G to use with a Z camera, and while I do like the 1.8G very much, the contrast and color 'tone' of the Long nose seems to be more painterly. The contrast in general of the 1.8G is much stronger, as well as the contrast within colors. The 1.8G is sharper and has lovely bokeh.
My copy of the Ai 50mm f/1.2 is well worn, but I've rebuilt it many times over there years. I think the helicoids are getting worn out, but I am very fond of the 1.2 as an all around 50mm lens.
I've also shot with the 55 Otus, and this is the lens you will want to try or rent to satisfy any further 50mm Nikon curiosity. Only you can decide from shooting if the cost and size/weight justifies the results. The Otus is a really spectacular lens.
