Ok:
Owning a $3,000 flawless Yashica Lynx 14 DX doesn't tell me you're a good photographer, it tells me you have good credit.

Not good enough. Am stealing it from the local camera shop tomorrow......might trade them a 50mm 1.4 ssc breech lock for Canon fd

Besides, rangefinder and flawless don't really go together ;|

This one is. I love the all metal lens.

I've been wanting a rangefinder for a while without spending stupid amounts of money on a Like-a and from what this thing looks like it would be a god-tier street / walkaround with the 1.4, most of my SLR lenses aren't even that fast, with the exception of a 50 that I have for my Nikkormat

So, what was the purpose of me, trying to talk you out of it ?
Thanks for wasting my time, Herr Derp !

Lol I know I just figured if there were ever a reason to not get one of these someone on APUG would pipe up.

Straight across? No, I don't think I can in good conscience even try to talk you out of that.

Pfft I got lenses that interface with my eye and automatically focus to where I look, but only if they are mounted on my Canon Elan 7e :whistling:

OK here we go, I'm gonna talk you out of it NOOOOOOW:

Mate it sounds as if you have too many cameras. Do you wanna be a photographer, or a GASBAG gearhead?

The shutter broke on my Lynx 14E after very light usage (it was pretty much like new when I got it) And the RF window is really dark and small.

Dunno if the DX is any different.

I love my 14E! If you are getting it for next to nothing, what's the question again?

Good morning, j-dogg;

Why should I try to do that? As a college kid, I really wanted the Yashica Lynx-14, but the old finances just could not stretch that far, so I had to settle for the Yashica Lynx-1000. Three years ago, I finally did get that Yashica Lynx-14, and it is still a heavy enjoyable camera. A nice bit of equipment with a strong emotional connection.

The Yashica Lynx-1000 stayed with me for almost three years and took photographs of many events, trips and places, and people. I really did want to keep it, but the finances after leaving school had not yet risen to the point where I could keep the rangefinder and buy the Minolta SR-1b also. The Minolta was my main camera for many years, and then it just "disappeared" in the early stages of the death of a marriage. There was a rumor about some very nice yard sales at the house where I used to live, but was no longer allowed to enter.

Now that the years of my working association with the Office of Support Enforcement are over, the Yashica Lynx-1000 along with the Yashica Lynx-14 that I wanted, and even a replacement Minolta SR-1b have been acquired. Discovering that my paycheck really was my paycheck again has allowed the latent tendancy for GAS to really become an obsession in my life. No, the "new" SR-1b is not really the one that I used to take all of those photographs of my children, but it really is a pretty nice camera. Yes, life really is pretty good now.

j-dogg, enjoy the Yashica Lynx-14, or the Lynx-14E, whichever one it is. They really are nice cameras, and we can work around the difficulty with the battery if required.
