Nice images. If Emporium is meant to be part of the title of your website, it is showing up well below the title and to the left. It is almost on top of your page links and is distracting to me. Also, is that background meant to show up behind all the pictures or only those at the top of the page?

Diane- what browser are you using? It looks fine to me in IE 6 (the browser on my computer at work). It also works in Firefox 2.0 . The site works well, and is easy to navigate. The only advice I'd give is to pare down the content a little to only show your very best images- you've got some on there that had other-than-optimal pours, and they detract from the overall quality. Same with the shot of the cannon firing - it's so smoky (I think!) that it makes the plate look fogged more than it does look like cannon smoke.

But some feel the artifacts in the pours or even short pours adds to the aesthetic. Take a look at some of Sally Mann's pours. Robert

Firefox 2.008 at the time. I'll look at it again since there is a new release of Firefox this morning.

Nope, I still get the same weirdness I described above.

Nice work Robert. Looks fine to me on Firefox. I like the artefacts too - for me they are a part of the aesthetic.
Regards,
Neil.

the pages look fine with my Firefox (2.0.0.9).
Some of the images are really wonderful (ie. the Soldier on Watch and Civilian George Smith) but I do agree with The FlyingCamera - images like 'Volley after reenactmen' don't work for me. Some 'artifacts in the pours' work to create an aesthetic feel but black spots are a little too distracting. I'm sure it has alot to do with the particular image. But that's just my opinion.

Diane - maybe your screen resolution is smaller than everyone else's? The site displays fine on my screen but my resolution is 1280x768 (widescreen format laptop). On something smaller, say 640x480, the website wouldn't format correctly no matter what browser you were using.
