I just received my Bronica SQ-Ai kit from KEH. The outfit included an ME Prism Finder S.

I suspect the finder may be broken.

When I depress the silver button within the circular shutter speed selection dial on the finder a red "-" LED lights (presumably to indicate underexposure). Even with a lens wide open at f/2.8 pointed at a 150W light bulb with an exposure of 30 seconds and an EI set of 6400 - the "-" LED stays lit.

Re-attaching the finder doesn't have any effect, and the battery check indicator seems to indicate the batteries are o.k.

Am I doing something wrong or failing to do something? Or is the finder broken, as I suspect?

Better yet, does anybody know of an online source for the manual for this finder? The "butkus" side does not have it.

Try to clean the contacts and try again, if it's still the same it's a fair chance the meter is busted.

I reattached the Prism finder and found a manual online for the MF Finder S (the metered finder using the vertically-oriented eyepiece).

Now the LED display changes when the shutter or aperture change - but its clearly metering 4 EV too low.

Looks like KEH has managed to sell me defective merchandise for the fourth time on the trot
