I have one of these over my enlarger connected to the timer (Beseler repeating-audible, not a mechanical clock but a relay-electronics thing). Zero issues.
I have from 3 to 5 running at any one time (darkroom's kinda big), but you really don't need to have them all on a switch, you just don't want them casting really bright on the easel. I usually have one over the sink, one over a work counter, and one near the enlarger that illuminates my print maps and notes, none of those are switched by the timer; something to consider, switching them all may not be necessary.
The one that's switched by the timer is probably 5 years old now, and I print several times a week - they're really long-life bulbs.
