I have a 127mm f4.7 Kodak Ektar for 4x5 / 6x9 in a Graflex 1000 shutter that I would like to sell -- note that although I have a couple of other 127mm Ektars that I have used before, I have NOT used this one, which is one of the reasons that I'm offering it at such a low price.

If you have a Super Speed Graphic or a Super Graphic, you know that the Super Speed came with a special Graflex shutter called the 1000 that had a max speed of 1/1000th. These shutters are notorious because they are loud and they can jam when used often at the 1000 speed. First off, I have NOT fired the shutter at 1000; I've tested it up to 1/500th, and it works fine -- the speeds sound accurate to my ear (although the half second setting may be a little slow). Secondly, the brilliant individual who owned this lens before me stripped out the lever mechanism for firing the shutter; there isn't a way to fire it other than manually depressing the shutter release (the solenoid catch has also been removed from the board -- I have no idea why).

Shutter cocks as it should, by twisting the lens hood clockwise.

The lens is in good condition; this has a single coating, I think -- there's a bluish cast, but I don't think these were multi-coated (I could be wrong). The rear element looks fine; the front element has a fair amount of coating scratches -- not scratches to the glass, but there are marks evident when the lens is held up to the light.

There is some oil on the aperture blades; the only other issue that I can see with the lens is that the diaphragm setting lever is stiff -- the blades are fine, but the lever does not move as easily as it should.

Asking $50 plus shipping -- the board stripped down is a Copal 0, and that alone is worth $40. Payable via PayPal, of course.

PM with any questions.

I forgot to mention that I have the matching P4 rangefinder cam (for Super Speed Graphic / Super Graphic cameras only -- not Crowns) available for $20 extra. Cam is in excellent condition.

Correction to the earlier post about the rf cam: I have the P34, which matches the 135mm lenses, not the 127mm!

PRICE DROP

Now $40 + shipping -- this should also work on Speed and Crown Graphics.

Give guitstick a PM, I know he was looking for an affordable LF lens.

Still available. Note that the caveats included in the description are just that -- caveats (i.e., warnings). This lens probably performs admirably for what it was designed for -- I simply don't want to make statements about its performance when I haven't actually used it.

Okay, I'm tossing in the shipping (my wife wants it off the dresser) -- so it is now $40 shipped.
