How the heck do you get at the projection bulb?

Dear Wayne,

Very easy. Flip the top open. Slide the bulb and socket up. Pull off the socket.

I tried that before posting. I thought the top looked like it should just flip open as it has has the convenient finger sized slot on the back, but I nudged, pulled, pushed, tugged and it didnt budge a bit. Guess I'll go try again
