I have this Sunpak PZ5000AF flash. I bought 1 new in 2002 and less than a year later it wouldn't fire any more so I sent it to Sunpak and they replace it with a new unit under warranty. It works fine for most applications but it always had a problem with the Nikon Coolpix 5000. The Coopix would fire the flash but then only once. If I want to fire the flash again I had to turn it off and back on again. It worked fine with other cameras (i.e Nikon F5, FM and the Df) until 2015 it started having problems first with the Df. When the camera triggers the flash it may or may not flash or flash at a very low level and yet the "AUTO OK" is flashing on indicating that the flash has received enough light. Eventually the problems got worse and it now would do that with any cameras or even firing by hand with no camera. It also does that on TTL mode. It also does that on M but not as often. But sometimes it does work perfectly fine for a number of flashes.
The problem is really strange. Anyone has any idea?
