As luck would have it…I’ve been using Polaroid 54 to learn how to use my camera and alas it’s no longer available. I’ve seen some expired packs on that auction site but it’s quite unreasonable. Is there a suitable substitute for this film? Thanks in advance for any information.

Fuji makes a 4x5 sized b/w instant film that may be suitable for your needs.

I would be very wary of expired Polaroid. It really deteriorates fast after its expiry date.

Thanks for the info. Is the Fuji 4x5 available anywhere in North America? I can find it in Japan but the dollar is pretty weak right now.

B&h photo keeps the fuji fp100b in stock. You want fp100b45. They also make an excellent 400 speed and 3000 speed instant film in 4x5. If you want you can get a reducing back and shoot to the less expensive 3.25" Fuji-roid.

N.b. you will need a pack film back to use the fuji stuff; you can get it at megaperls webshop and maybe also at b&h.

Try fp-100c it is great. You can boil the emulsion off in water and do transfers. Fun for the whole family....

P.S. Hmm now I don't see the fp100b45 at b&h. Well maybe megaperls is the only option. Maybe I saw it at freestyle? Not sure where I saw it but I thought I did. I might be thinking of fp100c.

Anyway I buy quite regularly from megaperls... never had an issue. And the dollar will be gaining strength shortly.

I just ordered several packs from Meagaperls...ouch! Now if the back I ordered from Adorama doesn't take too long to ship (backorder), I'll be back in business. Maybe Fuji will start shipping the FP100B45 to USA since there is a big gap after Polaroid left everyone hanging???
