Hi,

There is this website called 'sublub'. It lists every, or almost every large format fuji lens that was ever produced
by Fuji. For me it is an interesting website. Please take a look if you don't know it yet:
http://www.subclub.org/fujinon/byfl.htm

If you scroll down to the 210mm. lenses, you will see that the 210mm. WS f/5.6 lens, is presented as
having a 'C1' shutter, what I would assume that is being referred as a 'Copal 1' shutter. Is that right?
Do they mean 'Copal 1'?

I was looking at a shop at this precise lens. It is being offered with a Seiko 'B' Shutter. It reads:
Seiko 'B' Shutter, 48MT. Why '48MT', if 'Copal 1' shutters are labeled as '42MT'? Shouldn't this lens
come in a 'Copal 1' shutter? If it is a '48MT' shutter, where can I get such boards? I don't seem to find
them. Should I suppose that they have a 48mm. hole, as opposed to a 42mm. hole, typical of the
'Copal 1' lenses?

Thank you in advance : )!!! Any help is very much appreciated!

Kind regards!

There is a lot of confusion over Fuji product labeling, especially in their literature, unless one is already familiar with their lenses. Brochure typos and other errors have inadvertently slipped into informational websites. The 210 WS lenses, if marked simply "W" on the OUTSIDE of the lens barrel, are going to be multicoated second-generation lenses in Copal 1 shutter. Same with "NW" or "NWS". "CMW" is the latest tweak. But lenses with writing INSIDE the barrel rim, and in Seiko shutter, are going to be single coated of older design, yet with a slightly larger image circle.

More than one Copal was used. Older ones show some chrome around the outside diameter, new ones, more black. Makes no difference functionally, unless sheer usage over time was involved. Overall condition is therefore more important. Seiko shutters are allegedly excellent too, but older still. The lens board bore size might indeed differ between Copal and the oddball Seiko.

Fuji (and other Japanese lenses) were mounted in Seiko and Copal shutters. Seiko 0 shutters are interchangeable with Copal 0 shutters. Seiko 1 shutters have a 46mm mounting thread.

Hi,

Thank you for your messages : )!!!

This lens is mounted on a Seiko 'B' shutter, (they say), that has a '48MT'.
I'll call them tomorrow and see what they tell me. The lens is a 210mm. 'WS',
and it is labeled in the interior of the lens' ring.

Thank you again, kind regards!

I've sold dozens of these lenses, and have never seen them sold as mounted in 'B' shutters. The flanges were marked S-0 for Seiko 0 and S-1 for Seiko 1 shutters. The Toyo shutter wrench also refers to these shutters as Seiko-0 and Seiko-1.
The 48MT probably refers to the mounting hole diameter.

Hello Kumar,

Thank you for your message : )!!!

Yes, the person selling it has it in a Seiko 'B' shutter, that as you mentioned,
could be the S-0 or S-1 shutter.

The lensboard needed is '48MT', as you mentioned it may be a board with a
48mm. hole diameter, if that is what by '48MT' is meant. Where does one get
such a board? I have not even see them on e-bay!

Thank you again to all of you, kind regards!
