Jay,

Thanks for sharing your experience. I have a Compur with a 210/370 convertible that I have been unable to use. I guess that it is time to send this off to the shutter genie...would you be so kind as to post her address for me again? I know that others have posted it before but I am lazy and would rather not go through all of the searching.

Thanks,
Don

I know I've put in a lot of plugs for Carol in the past, but...

She is one of the very few techs who will even look at, much less tackle, some of the older technology shutters. She repaired an old Century pneumatic shutter for me that I thought was beyond help. As I type this, she has one of my old brass Unicum shutters in her shop. Her last progress report was that the shutter was cleaning up and behaving nicely. I have no doubt that it'll be as close to perfect as possible when it comes home.

Wow! Gonna send her my Yashica D TLR! Amazing prices!

The only problem I have with Carol is that she charges so little, I worry that she can stay in business!

Her work is great.

Matt

Carol really is a jewel. I recently sent her an Ikoflex that she evaluated and recommended it be used for parts. The person I bought it from agreed to take it back and Carol was kind enough to send it for me. I know she spent time opening the camera to see if it was worth fixing but she didn't charge me. She is always so nice and has a good sense of humor.

Every CLA I need done will go to Carol until the end of time.

One of the best things about Carol is that she understands those of us who are inquisitive and want to open up our own sluggish/broken shutters... she just asks that you make sure you get all of the pieces into a ziplock baggie for when she has to put it back together :D

This is very unfortunate news, Jay.

I was hoping that you'd so tire of the shutter problems that you'd be inclined to sell me the Verito at a bargain price. Then, I could send it to Carol for repair.

No such luck, Ralph . . .

Alas, the story of my life. (sniff, sniff)

I just bought two of Kerry Thalmann's Germinars (APUG Classifieds), so (verily, verily) my Verito lust may have to be patient.

That's it. Rub it in, Matt, rub it in.
