Hello everybody!

I have a small problem with a Minolta SRT101. I have accidentally pushed the mirror return lever at the base of the camera, with the shutter cocked. It seems to be jammed now, I can't fire the shutter. Are there any solutions to get it back working?

Thank you in advance for answers!

Hello,

Try google, there are lots of posts on similar topics for SRT 101 and SRT 201 jamming.

Can you open the film back?
Is there movement in the advance lever?
Have you tried depressing the rewind button?
Is the self timer engaged?
Can you actuate the DOF mechanism?
Can you remove the lens?

These are all preliminary steps which may or may not lead to the solution. Google has more.

Yes, I can open the film back.
There is no movement in the film advance lever, except those 15-20 degrees if free move that are normal.
I have tried depressing the rewind button but it seems to be stuck also. Do you have an idea on how to depress it?
The self timer is engaged, but its lever will stop at 45 degrees, without firing the shutter. I have tried multiple times.
The DOF mechanism does not work.
I can remove the lens.

Thank you in advance for helping me. I really love this camera and I am really sad to see it like this. I was just trying to clean some dust. :/

Try moving the sprocket inside, on the wind side; just push it with your thumb.

^^Shutter finger's correct, it's the one with the teeth next to the take up spool

Hi Ionut,

Did you ever manage to fix this problem? I have just done the exact same thing with my Minolta SRT-101 while oiling and cleaning it.

I would be so relieved if you could help me!

with warm regards from the Netherlands,
Frans

Mirror return lever? Can you post a picture of this lever?

Try slowly and gently pushing the self-timer lever to its completed position and see if the shutter fires; if it doesn't fire then, try the advance lever and shutter button again after you've moved the self-timer lever. I have jammed my SRT201 like this and I believe that was the solution. I believe you cannot break those cameras, they are so solidly built.

I just did the exact same thing by accident. Did you figure out how to fix the problem?
Thanks.
