Streaks on lith print ....

Hello,
after long time of "preparations" , I finally tried lith printing in more detail. Two printing sessions this weekend. I am happy with some results and not so happy with others. As a complete beginner I tried all paper kinds I found at home, but mainly Foma.
But why I am opening this thread ... see two prints below. I found on Fomabrom surely visible periodic white (or at least light) streaks going vertically on whole exposed surface. I suppose, it is a matter of emulsion. Did anybody saw something like that ?
When I tried RC Fomaspeed, or baryt Fomatone there was no such a problem.

the streaks do appear to be related to the emulsion - especially since the other papers don't show them and they appear regular - did you try more than one print on the fomabrom? the paper usually responds well to lith.

Yes, I tried and the second one was the same - streaks. But it was the same box. Will try next time another batch, so we will see. In real, the print is very, very grainy, seems more like litho-graphy ... Thanks for visit and comments.

Like I pointed out in the gallery, where you also posted a comment on this problem, I think it's an emulsion problem. I had the exact same thing happen to me with some Fotokemika Emaks Grade 3 in lith chemistry. I tried the same negative on both Fomatone Classic as well as Fotokemika Varycon and no such problem. The paper printed fine in regular b&w chemistry, by the way.

Lith has a way of showing up emulsion flaws that regular processing 'to completion' does not show.
Have you tried snatching much earlier BTW?

Dida, does the pattern on the bottom of your development tray happen to coincide with these streaks? A print left face down in the tray, without agitation for any short period of time will produce this effect. Lith certainly does reveal flaws in an emulsion you won't see otherwise, but I have never seen a pattern like that.

I think so. I just now remembered I've had issues with Kentmere Kentona paper the same way. Now that surprised me a lot, since they're ISO 9001 certified too. But they took neatly care of me at Freestyle and sent me a fresh box of paper, from a different batch, and problem solved. They told me to keep the old envelope, so I printed that in normal chemistry.

A paper I've never had any problems with in this regard is Fomatone. Always worked great for me. No flaws. Ever. Ilford MG fiber Warmtone is also suitable for lith, but it's slow, yet it also has never produced any defects.

Thanks all for ideas. In my stupidity and also because the lack of time, just today morning I remembered, that I made also couple of smaller size, different box papers, test prints to find exposure. There were no streaks, but this print was developed to complete black in black part of contrasty scene. So I think, this was problem of one box. I had only two papers there. It should be some pattern from emulsion coating process. I will try this weekend more prints and will see.
At the botom of tray was no pattern, was washed by fresh water, but had some Ag residues from ordinary BW developer on surface ...

Solved. Yesterday I tried new box of Fomabrom with MACO LP again, the asme dilution (1+1+18), everything works perfectly, no streaks.
