Straps Suggestion

I use the Gordy's straps on most of my 35mm film cameras and am very happy with them. The straps are very well made, reasonably priced and quite nice looking.

Yeah- too bad they don't make a black one (I think)
The AN4B is narrower (it's like the nicer version of every classic 1970s-80s nylon strap)

Check out the Wapiti straps too. They are very good.

I was thinking about getting a strap for my Fuji 6x9. I haven't settled into a way of carrying it that satisfies me. Strapless in messenger bag is a no-no as it hurt my bag. I'll have to try with strap and backpack for stowage.

So far the Optech Superclassic is the one that seems most convincing. Black and unasumming, and the version I'm looking at has clips so the hsoulder part can be detached, nice for tripod work.
A pity is that the price increased a couple of bucks over the weekend! I'll get one when I'm back from my exchange.

Quite a variety there. Thanks for the link. You can tell they're a bit prejudiced toward rangefinders.

I use a Black Rapid, but any other brand of similar design is probably just as good. Wasn't sure if I'd like it at first, but now I'd never go back to a traditional style strap, as they always seemed to get in the way due to their placement high up on the camera body.

I was initially concerned about the camera hanging upside down by only the tripod socket. If you think about it, the socket is screwed into the main frame and then covered by a bottom plate/cover, which is itself then screwed into the frame (at least on my Nikons).

Granted, I wouldn't use a ginormous lens unless it had a collar, but then the strap connects to the lens collar, not the camera.

If you want extra security, you can use an additional small tether (or a length of para-cord, or whatever) from the carabiner-style connector to the regular strap lug. Make it short so it stays close to the camera body and doesn't get in the way. Black Rapid sells these as extras, but I don't use one.
