I've used the Op/Tech with my Hasselblad for a long time, and I rate it very highly.
I seem to have a few more cameras these days than I do neck straps to carry them. Looking for some advice for good straps for a Nikon F2A(fairly heavy) and D7000. I'm leaning toward this one but open to a better strap.

Black Rapid straps are O.K. if you like the idea of suspending your camera upside down only connected to the strap by the tripod bush, which would frighten the hell out of me, my favourite straps are 1 1/2" wide Domke Gripper Straps http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/16178-REG/Domke_742_6BK_1_5_Web_Camera_Strap.htmlYou might want to have a look at www.blackrapid.com offerings. I shoot 4x5 and 35mm. Most frequently a Nikon F100 when shooting 35mm. When I have a 70-200 f2.8 zoom attached I can empathise with your weight issue. The strap of theirs I use goes over head and under your arm yet makes bringing the camera into shooting position easy. More control while walking and no constant banging on your chest. The only slight draw back is it attaches at the tripod lug so if you use a tripod often..

ColColt, you are looking for neck-straps. But ever considered a shoulder strap of a glider design?

The basic idea is to have a shoulder strap and still fast access to the camera, even with a shoulder pad and nevertheless without dislocating the pad.
Something you even could DIY.
