Can coated plates be be safley stored if the emulsion does not contain any presrvatives or bactiriside? What should be used for a preservative if needed and how much shuld be used per batch? Is the content determined by the amount of gelatin in the emulsion?

Thanks.

They can be stored with no preservative, if the emulsion is in a dry place.

For a preservative, the hardener can help and you can add thymol as well. Use about 1 drop per 100 grams of emulsion of a 10% solution of thymol.

Yes, the amount is based on gelatin and assumes an aldehyde hardener. I assume 10% gelatin.
