Not that I'm a fan of him, but I thought it was interesting to see him, his assistants, and model, working under all those hot lights, in suits, and in all that cigarette smoke. Back when everyone smoked! The pulling/inserting of film holders and dark slides was lightening fast!

Thank you for providing this film on Steichen.

Love to see historic videos. I smoke occasionally and have found that doing it around hanging film really makes more pain than it is worth (tons of dust specks), but as long as the film is in a camera not so much.

Ín those day all the intros seemed to be done the same way with the same voice that introduced the late 1950s TV series "The Untouchables"

"Know to the mobs as the enforcer, Frank Nitti" ..... cue Nelson Riddle's orchestra

On balance, Andrew, I think I prefer you, the tree and Roman temple in the park.😄

"these photographs proved to be the masterpieces they really are"

He apparently liked windblown women, dating back to "Wind Fire" (Therese Duncan on the Acropolis ),1921. Always loved that picture. And thinking about it, Steichen's book of WWII Navy sea battles, which sold I believe for 10 cents, was my first introduction to photography as a small child.
