Very nice and very impressive - I had a play (hope your don't mind), critically sharpened it and downsized to 5000dpi which is the point where I can easily seen single pixel level details. This means it's about 35 megapixels - very impressive indeed..

Really do not understand what are you talking about... I made comparizon with Eversmart and it blows away this drum scan. I am useing grain as a reference. (Autolevels on a part of the cars door for example make the grain pronounced)

Yes. May be a crop of that door will help.

They own several scanners (CREO IQSMART3, IMACON 848, SCREEN CEZANNE, DAINIPPON SCREEN 8060 MK II, etc).

They use IQSmart3 (wet mounted) and Imacon 848 for standard-cheap scans; their Dainippon 8060 drum scanner exceeds in quality any other scanner (drum or flatbed scanner, Eversmart included, obviously): it's their choice for serious scans.

How did you make your comparison?

I wouldn't forget that the scanner operator is extremely important too (expecially for drum scanners).
Looking for new scans by CastorScan from more detailed originals; the linked scan is an excellent reference for grain, dynamic range, color gamut, etc.; certainly not for resolution, because the original shot is quite smooth.

I am making comparisons using files on a computer screen about 100% magnification. I guess that your file is not of the best quality that's why two of us are asking you to present an uncompressed crop. Then we can continue.

Which comparisons? Did you have the chance to scan the same negative using an Eversmart or another scanner?
