stand development: water stop bath question

I usually develop in batches both 120 and 135 up to 20 rolls at a time.

Stand development seems to work for me. I usually have several tanks going (up to 6). Can I, after the developer is poured out and the water stop bath poured in and agitated, leave the water stop bath alone for up to 30 minutes so I can methodically go through each tank using fixer and hypoclear?

Will development still proceed or the emulsion be harmed in any way with leaving the water in the tank undisturbed?

I've never done this, so take my estimate with a grain of salt. Leaving the film in water for 30 minutes will not damage the emulsion. Residual developer will continue to develop the film until the developer is exhausted. This will happen in highlight areas first and in shadow areas last. So far the theory, in practise, I don't expect a measurable difference.

I'd investigate eliminating the stop. Rather than a stop
consider going directly to a sodium slow fixer used one
shot. I do only one roll at a time using a more than
usual dilution of slow fixer. Dan

He's talking about a water stop. I see no harm.
