Is there any square pre-cut paper still available? I see Kentmere have it listed but never seen any for sale. RC or FB

Kentmere also still make a 10x10, I believe.

I would imagine any Ilford or Kentmere stockist would order some for you.
Ilford does have a direct to dealer program, but I am guessing that the Isle of Lewis is not crowded with Ilford dealers.

Just curious, as Lewis is a long way from anywhere, even stuff delivered by post must take an age to arrive.

Schlapp. At the risk of sounding like the local who says in response to the tourist's question about getting from A to B, "Well, I wouldn't start from A", you might like to look at 7dayshop. It is selling 50 sheets of 11x14 in both glossy and pearl at £29.39. OK it needs trimming or maybe just different borders and in the case of equal borders, you've generated some test strips.

Free delivery to the U.K. and I think Lewis qualifies

If you cant be ersed to scan through the posts, here is Simon Galley's reply to my request for square FB paper:

We do make square paper, it is still made in RC, primarily for the aerial survey market, in all honesty the market is now very, very small and would not justify another SKU, also, it would be an almost impossible sell in to a reseller in terms of TPA ( turns per annum ).

I don't know if this service applies to Kentmere products, but it's very useful all the same.
And it saves you from having to sit at home, waiting all day, for a delivery.

Leon, no idea what a SKU is - but I get the drift.
Jerry, nearest dealer is on the mainland
Mr P User. I have used RetroPhotographic and Silverprint but, the problem is that when they send it by road transport, the excess is horrible. By parcel post its almost as bad. Silverprint did send my last order by ordinary post - which was kind but I was informed it would be one-off.
I also use first-call as they seem to have no excess and do sell Kentmere - but not square!
Martin; Actually, we are not far from the Isle of Berneray or North Rona - nearly between the two actually but Ilford don't have a dealer at either location Having said that, post takes the usual time - unless the weather is bad and ferries /planes stop coming - about twice a month at the moment. Don't need to wait in as the postman opens the door and puts it all inside. Nice eh?

I've had Mathers of Lancashire post stuff to me at odd addresses all over the highlands. They use the regular mail, are efficient and helpful, and never bullshit about what they can and cannot supply. They handle Ilford film and paper, so I'm sure they could act as an agent for a D2D order.

It seems strange that Kentmere made by Ilford is sold in 10x10 but not Ilford paper, nor any others, it would appear. If you want square it is Kentmere or nothing. Anyway congrats to Matt for stocking it

Virtually, you can cut/make paper into any specific size you want, and then you don't have to rely on the "availability" of hard to find paper.

That is true although it does mean you waste a lot of paper unless you use a lot of test strips.

Well, everyone must decide what's more important A) flexibility in having any paper size at their disposal or B) saving paper. Can't always have everything both ways.

When I have cut down paper to the size I want, I have been staggered just how many "test strips in waiting" you generate.

Unless you have done it, it can be hard to appreciate how much paper gets wasted
