Sprint Record Speed Fixer

I just bought a liter of Sprint Recoed Speed Fixer and it states that it dilutes 2:8 for film fixer. Why does it not say 1:4? They're the same ratio. I'm assuming there's something I'm missing here?

The same fixer used for print paper is diluted 1:9, so perhaps that's why the company uses 2:8?

Why not call the company if you feel you're missing something?

it also says 1:9 for prints ...
usually people mix 1L of solution.
1:9, 2:8 ... it is easier to give instructions to
mix 1L than it is to wonder what total amout of solution people might be using.

Yes, all Sprint's mixing instructions are by the liter. And almost everything is mixed 1:9.
