I'm wondering if it's possible to buy a proper split image filter designed for accuracy? In this video this guy has
made something similar to what I'm looking for.
However, for what I want to try and achieve, I really need it to be dead accurate when you rotate it for the second exposure, otherwise there will be a visable line in the photo.
What I was hoping to do was to go back to a tube station and do
this photo again, but try and achieve the same effect all analogue and straight out of the camera. I'd need a split image filter and probably one that clicks in place so you know you have it on the other half of the frame exactly. Then I can have the camera on a sturdy tripod, very carefully move the filter to the other side, wait for a second train and expose for the same amount of time at the same aperture.
Shooting at f/11 with an ultra-wide angle lens there wont be that much margin for error. Does anyone make such a filter, because I'm struggling to find one.
