"Special" Colour film wanted for Leica R6 with 35-70mm Vario Elmar

I’ve found that Wolfen NC 400 and 500 look ‘best’ shot at half their box speed, EI 200 and 250.

I'd be another voice suggesting Ektar. Certainly not cheap, but it *is* special....and not in a weird way.

Harman phoenix has it's uses for sure and I've made some very nice photos with it...but it's too "out there" right now for anything other than low contrast shots which fill the frame with the subject. Rumours of Phoenix II are yet to be proven true, but it might be on the way.

I recently shot a roll of something called "Yashica Sapphire 70s". Interesting kinda vintage look to it, but with digital manipulation the scans could be made to look anything from vintage to quite standard colour.

Nobody seems to know what this film actually is, but I would assume it's one of the Inoviscoat colour films. I'd actually say it's not at all bad, and certainly different in character to your normal Kodak offerings while not being as wacky as Harman Phoenix.
