Sover Wong is not taking any more cameras in for repair until June 2024 due to existing backlog. Is there a highly regarded repair technician for Nikon F and F2s in the US? I would also want the F2 metered heads refreshed if possible.
Contact site sponsor Zacks Camera Repair. He as worked on far more complicated cameras than the F2 for me.
Also, if your metered heads need a new ring resistor, Sover may be able to sell you that part.
Interesting. I asked him about servicing a Nikkormat FT3 and he said he wouldn't do it. He did say "wouldn't" rather than "couldn't", so maybe he just doesn't like working on those.

Thanks Huss, that is close enough that I could drop off personally since I don't like to send equipment in the mail. No choice but to send to DAG since he is one of the best if you use rangefinders.
Thank you Huss for recommending Dean's. He seems to be very passionate about his cameras. Just dropped off a Nikon F2AS, F2 and F (both with plain prisms) for overhaul as well as 6 Nikkor lenses for repair. I can't wait to get them back and start shooting.Call ahead to make sure he is there. Sometimes his shop hours and him being in don't match up.

Did you tell him Huss sent you? Mention that AFTER you get the cameras back...
I didn’t mention you recommended him. Why after . . .? I have 5 more metered F2s I need overhauled including ones with DP-1, DP-2 x 2, DP-3 and DP-11. Hopefully he will be done with the first batch soon.
I used my Costco sized moderator's scythe.
The one I'd prefer to not have to employ!

Hey, the mods are giving a break on the San Francisco thread! Be nice here!

To the OP, I have been using Mark Hama for repair work. Not nikon related (yet) but when I can't find anyone to work on a particular model, he (Mark) always takes on the job. For example, he repaired my Minolta XK when no one else would (even some that looked at it, said it couldn't be repaired). He has an xd-11 of mine now. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. He appears to work on most all makes of slr's as well at tlr's (he has repaired yashicamats for me in the past). Prices are reasonable, 6 month warranty of work.
Hama works on XKs? Noice.
Since I couldn't find anyone to could work on mine in the US, I reached out to him and sent mine in. Got it back along with a little baggie of the spare parts replaced (the old, broken ones). So we know he has parts on hand which is the problem with xk's, parts availability.| Photrio.com contains affiliate links to products.
