Would anyone in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Oklahoma or Texas be willing to have a gathering next year? I am thinking something similar to Photostock in the Great Lakes region.

The Mid-America Photography Symposium is in Eureka Springs, AR in May but pretty much all digital as well as being mainly focused on portrait and commercial photography. So, I was thinking that it would be nice to have an alternate gathering in this area.

Florida resident here.....slightly interested. ill be lurking here.

You'll get more (and better) response if you propose something more specific. When? Where? Doing what?

... and who's going to do all the organizational work?

Photostock has evolved over the years, but it is what it is. What will yours be?

Currently I have left it loosely based so that we can find a place based on where people interested are located. What I am trying to do right is gauge interest in such an event. To my knowledge, there are few if any gatherings in this area.

As far as a possible location. Mt Petit Jean in Arkansas has been suggested. Photostock has certainly evolved from what Bill Schwab has told me. I mentioned it because I went this year and enjoyed it a lot. It would be nice to have something for this region of the country.

I'd be interested....

I'm near Knoxville, TN. I'd be interested in something a bit closer this direction but I'm afraid Arkansas is a bit too far for me to travel.

Natchez sounds like a good idea. I don't know about others but I would be willing to travel that far. Do you have any ideas about lodging potential in Natchez?

New Orleans is very photogenic.

You make a very good point. Hadn't thought about it. It would certainly draw more people.
