Source for Light Seals

I think it's time for me to replace the light seals on my Minolta X-570. Does anyone know of a reputable seller for light seal material or light seal kits?

I got light seals for my Konica from US Camera. Looks like he has some for Minolta here: https://uscamera.com/product-category/light-seals/minolta-seal-kits/

I found the pre-cut ones to be somewhat difficult to install - hard to get the thin strips in the slot without twisting.

Use the "Fix Old Cameras" method--it works:


I fill the cap from a 35mm film canister with isopropyl alcohol, pulling the cut foam strip (backing paper removed) through it so that the whole strip is wet. It's easy to place it in the channel and adjust it so it isn't twisted. Then close the back and wait several hours for the alcohol to evaporate and the adhesive to work. Time-consuming but stress-free.

Given the variety of cameras I have I just buy an assorted kit of light seal materials from eBay and cut my own with the aid of a cutting mat, a scalpel and blades, and a steel rule.

there is a similar product called Foamies Sheets by a company called Darice. They come in various colors including black. They are sold in craft outlets, Amazon, Walmart, etc. I found a supply of them in a dollar store a while back and loaded up.

Yep, temporarily removing the sticky with IPA (I use a cotton bud & wipe it along the sticky, a small section at a time) and when the IPA evaporates, the sticky is stuck )
For straight pieces, buying the foam (ebay) and cutting with a new scalpel and metal rule works fine. For an expensive camera or one with difficult light seal shapes, I would buy a pre-cut set.
