Anyone have a good (cheap) source for "lens boards" for a D2 enlarger? I already have the lens cone that attaches to the enlarger, but the actual circular part that the lens threads into is missing. I would also need the screws to mount it.

I need 2 of them that have 39mm threads, I believe. eBay seems to be a bit of a crapshoot - they aren't marked with threads, and require me buying another cone, etc.

Thanks!

Classic Enlargers, nice web site.

Jeff, I had the same issue and ended up making mine out of abs plastic. I know this isn't the answer you want to hear.

Or hardboard & a copule of hole saws

on the other hand, a lot of Omega stuff is so cheap you can buy extra cones that you don't really need and not be out that much money. That is what I have done in the past. Now I have a nice collection of lens cones. Hmmm...my own coneheads!

I have a bunch of cones and only two lens boards...neither was/is threaded. Have to use a retaining nut with the lens....

I too have cones to spare....hmmm, and a few spare condenser sets too!

I did a DIY here also: a sheet of copper-clad printed circuit board material. The lens flange had to be mounted on a ~1/4" block of AOS so the back of the lens didn't protrude through the back of the lens board.

Jeff,

I may have an extra lying around with a 39mm opening - I only use my Omega for 4x5 and my lens needed a bigger opening so I made a board for it.

In a real "pinch" the folks at Steve Grimes can fabricate almost anything you need. As you have no doubt heard, they have a reputation of being costly; but, whatever job they undertake is normally done perfectly.
