I can mill the lumber to your precise specs and ship this week for very very reasonable prices. I happen to have a bunch of beautifully seasoned 8 year old walnut lying about cluttering up the place. My jointer, planer and table saw love to chew on walnut. How can I help you?

I sent them an email about something that I think I need. Looking for some 1 inch square hardwood to use for building a tripod. Also need some 1/4 inch square for the guide rails. Hopefully they can help me out with some somewhat finished lumber. I don't have the tools to plane it down or anything like that, so just cutting out for the guide rails is going to be difficult.

I just wanted to add that I now have lumber from both Ken Craft (Red Oak) and from The Hardwood Store of North Carolina (Ash) http://www.hardwoodstore.com . Both places sent me great lumber and are highly recommended! I hope I can do them justice with the final fabrication. The other parts will probably come from http://www.smallparts.com and http://www.mcmaster.com/ (clamps, screws, bolts, etc.)

That is a very small price to pay for the quality of life you have. In Edmonds, which is a lot better than some cities, the traffic and pace is horrific. 2 more years until I can leave this rat race for a place in the country like you have. Count your blessings.

Excellent point. I lived in Seattle for ten years and it about drove me to the brink. I'm glad you have an end in sight. I wish you the best of luck (& speed) in getting to where you want to be. I though country living would have me tearing my hair out but in fact it's been sublime; it's like the clock is ticking backwards in some ways! Cheers, Colin
