Looking to make my own E-6 using this formula:

I think I can find just about everything in there except for citrazinic acid? Anyone know of a source?

Fotosuvaltar sells some and should ship globally. See his catalog (under item number 41 Citrazinsäure)

You might try a search for 2,6-Dihydroxyisonicotinic acid, which is a more modern name for the compound you seek. Or, search for its CAS number: 99-11-6

I note that you are in Canada, so I am not sure this will help, but Sigma-Aldrich (a major US chemical supplier) sells this compound, see https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/US/en/product/aldrich/153281. Also, I'm not sure that they will sell to an individual.

As a last resort, you can contact the folks at ArtCraft Chemicals (https://artcraftchemicals.com/) and ask them if they can source this compound for you.

If you are making your own E-6 chemistry you should be able to synthesize citrazinic acid:

It doesn't seem overly complicated, but more effort than I'm willing to go and probably not safe to do in an apartment without proper ventilation 😅

Thankyou, I emailed one other company here in Canada, Thermofisher but it looks like sigma-aldrich might be ready to ship if thermofisher is unwilling. I'm surprised artcraft does not already offer it.

Many of the professional chemistry dealers (Sigma Aldrich, TCI, Fisher, ...) do not supply private people with their wares. As a normal person you can not even buy Sodium Chloride from them. If Formulary, Artcraft and whatever runs the show in Canada don't have/ship Citrazinic Acid (ask them, maybe they have it and just won't put it on their web site), then Fototechnik Suvatlar from Germany is also an option. AFAIK Suvatlar ships internationally, and I have my Citracinic Acid from him.

PS: Watkin's factor is a very popular formula, but with the same level of chem availability you can also make Stefan Lange's E-6 soups and you will be much closer to the real thing.

The problem with Stefan's formulas AFAIK is that they use HQMS-K which is just as hard to get as Citrazinic Acid. I have an order for CA from Fisher Scientific for 100g at $55 and the shipping is expensive. I believe they will sell to individuals in small amounts, at least so far it looks ok. I am also looking to get Propionic Acid and a few other items not sold by PF or ArtCraft from them. The difficult find is HQMS, which can be found but is incredibly expensive.
