Source for 28% acetic acid?

OK, this is hopefully a simple one. Where can I buy 28% acetic acid in the US? I only seem to be finding glacial at all of my usual photo chemistry sources.

I'm looking to make Kodak HT-2 - I suppose I could just use vinegar, and figure out the correct ratio?

I can buy 35% at my supermarket - and 7%

Both can be used, you just reduce or increase the amount of water added (i.e. the 750ml part....)

28% acetic acid is a mixture of 90+% (glacial) and plain water.....

You utilize the good old X-rule to figure out how much water there should be, but since english is my second language, I'll opt out of explaining that one in english, for now......

It's simple enough to just buy the glacial acetic acid and dilute it to 28%. Glacial is 100% so 100/28=3.57, so use 1 part glacial + 2.57 parts dH2O. If you need 125ml, then 125/3.57=33.2ml. Add 33.2ml of glacial to 91.8ml dH2O.

Looking at the formula again, is there any reason I couldn't take household white vinegar, dilute it to 3.5%, and add 100ml of that to .75g of silver nitrate? I don't think I really need a liter of this.

Or simply buy Edwal HypoCheck. I think Adorama and B&H stock it. Or maybe Formulary Residual Hypo Test from Photographer's Formulary?

Yes that should work. They just used 28% because 'everyone' in the day had that mixed up already.

You don't have jugs of Glacial in your darkroom? You aren't one of those 'water stop bath' people are you..

3 parts GAA, 8 parts water. That's the old standby mixing ratio if you go that route.

I just used up my last jugs of glacial last week.

Actually, we do use a water stop .... but we're fixing with TF-4, so it's all good.
