Actually, I have nothing to say. Just wanted to the first person to post on this new forum.

But, to stay on topic, I do own two M-series Leicas.

Hi, Jim.

DF,

I see you're from Dearborn. Was born and raised there though I now live a few hundred miles north.

I'm a big fan of Cape Breton too, for what it's worth.

g'day

but why does a seemingly insignificant piece of equipment get it's own forum?

Apparently just to annoy you :D

Leica M?

No thanks, I've already got two M's in my name

Murray

I have a DS M3 with a 50 f2 Collapsable Summicron, 90 f4 Collapsable Elmar, 135 Hektor, 35 f2.8 CV Skopar and a Canon LTM 50 f1.5.

Bill

PS I want another M body.

Does this mean all you Leicans will now stay here and not litter up the other threads? :D

[Hey, Moderators/Sean - where's the Nikon (S & F) forum!!!

Somewhere around Gaylord maybe? I try to hang out around East Jordan/Mancelona several weeks each year. Are you aware of the Great Lakes Regional folder here on APUG?

Hey Jim

Small world !

You need to run up to Bill Schwab's get together this fall.
Bill's ANOTHER Dear-burner.

Here's a snap of me loafing up in Cape Breton this summer
( which might be amusing ). That night, we had a kitchen party !

- the second is a leica shot, the first a T4 yashica

Jim,

I too am from Dearborn, but currently at the summer place near Cross Village. Be sure to check the Great Lakes Regional Group (there was a url link here which no longer exists). If you are only 1 hour south of the bridge, we are only 15 minutes putting you only 45 minutes away. Perfect for the summer gathering up here.

Bill

I'm sorry I missed the 2006 event. I'm in the Gaylord area and a trip up to the Cross Village area would be like a trip to the corner drugstore for me. I've put the 2007 dates on the calendar. Maybe I can suggest some places to visit too (Wilderness State Park has some gorgeous undeveloped Lake Michigan shoreline, great Piper Ploving habitat too).
