Some Fuji film/paper will be discontinued

Sad news.

I know that products listed here are only available in Japan, but many of you who purchase them from Megaperls would like to be aware of in advance.

Fuji has announced that they will discontinue some of producuts including B&W film/paper bellow.

Neopan 100 Acros 35mm in 30.5m (Mar, 2007)

I didn't realise they made a panchromatic printing paper. Is that an RC paper?

What is it about the Rembrant V paper, I understand they used to make it in two "default" grades, does this mean the discontinue only grade 3, while grade 2 remains available?

I just did a goggle search and found that Neopan Presto 400 & 1600 film = Neopan 400 & 1600. Does this mean that my "NEW" choice of B&W films will be toast by March ???

Do you use the 100ft roll? Maybe they will continue producing the 100ft roll for the North American market. If you use any other size, you should be fine.

Too bad if this is true. I have 40+ rolls left in 120 Neopan 400 and was thinking of getting it in 35mm on rolls. I am not sure I want to buy a pile of stuff that's going to be discontinued in the near future. I guess this means that the 35 mm films will only be available in canisters, which (probably) has better profit margins. Typical - just as you get something you like it goes away. Okay, I'll get some Ilford rolls next time. See if they stick around a while longer.

I see no point in using the long rolls as long as cartridges are available. I am sure others didn't, either. So the rolls didn't sell. At least not in Japan. We have no information yet if this affects any other market than Japan.

It could very well be that way. I prefer bulkloading, it's easy and saves me a bunch of money that I can spend on papers and chems. Given the savings, it's strange that it doesn't sell better.

I primarily use bulk rolls as I can spool off whatever length I need. I use a lot of short rolls for testing, I imagine others do too.

I would expect an announcement from EK as to the cancellation of some products as well.

Expect prices at Fuji and EK to keep going up.

Well, while unfortunate, this announcement doesn't really mean any film choices went away, except for 4x5" shooters who now can't shoot Fuji ortho film ... But I understand its a matter of time until some products will drop

I always used to bulk roll Provia 100F until it got to be about the same price at B&H for 36 exp. rolls. Somewhere in the economics of grey market, official US product, special orders, and such it just may not be such an advantage to buy Fuji film in bulk rolls unless you particularly need short or extra long rolls.

You are right.
Fujibro panchro WP is RC paper. Rembrant V will be continued in G2/F2.(so far).

We have another 8 month to be with them. I will stock up some cans of neopan then.

It's a shame. Here in Canada, Neopan 1600 in individual rolls is horrendously expensive. The 100' rolls from Megaperls made it affordable. Time to stock up, I guess.

OK I see your point but just consider how expensive the HARDWARE would be were it not for the rise of digital, I for one could never have justified MF .

Clarence, I don't know who ships internationaly except Megaperls. You may be able to contact with Dirk Rosen of Megaperls, I guess. He is an APUGer.

Dear All,

Someone said it in the thread...but it only looks like ORTHO film gone...and remember FUJI have stated their committment to film...and when the say it, they mean it...100' rolls are indeed mostly used in education and by large user enthusiasts, since these two groups are our mainstay I can assure you that ILFORD Photo have no plans whatsoever to discontinue any bulk rolls and our Ortho is selling well so thats safe as well.
