Philips made a color tv technology presantation few years ago , it was about producing all colors spectrums of nature with slits.

You can engineer a slit for each of all dye spectrums .

Autochrome uses 6 dyes in its filter.

We can order a laser printed 8x10 color positive film with millions of slits printed in to film emulsions where 6 different slits spreads on the entire slide.

Slits diffract the daylight in to these dyes spectrums and voila you have the filter.

Only you have to do is contact print and breed the filters for different users.

Creativity is the limit , you can select all the natures dye spectrums for to use.

Could the slits be recorded on b&w film, since the color is created by diffraction? Do films have the necessary resolution to render these diffraction slits?
 
I learned LVT Imagesetter resolution is 200 lpmm but diffracting light by slits requires more.
I turned to the photoshop.
