I just received a Mamiya C330 I ordered. I have a C220 and wanted to upgrade. I was looking forward to the upgraded film winding and shutter cocking a C330 would give me. I swapped my 80/f2.8 lens over to the C330 and loaded up a test roll of 120. Everything runs smooth other than the shutter cocking arm will not cock the shutter. The shutter cocking mechanism falls just short of enough travel to cock the lens. If I manually cock the shutter, camera fires and winds fine however, it continually will not cock the shutter. Any thoughts before I send this back? It was on a popular seller's website listed in 'Good' condition.

Are you sure the double exposure dial triangle on the right side of the camera is set to "single"?.

Yes, the camera was set to single exposure.

Further research has identified the problem for me. I slightly twisted the taking lens on the lens board so the lever makes contact sooner. Problem solved!

I know this is an old thread but I’m having the same issue. Could you explain how to twist the lens on the board? Thank you in advance

Sure no problem. I removed the lens from the camera. I grasped the lower lens assembly and rotated it clockwise (front element facing you.) It was pretty snug however, it rotated a small amount. It was quite snug after rotating and I did not need to tighten it more. If your lens will not move you may have to loosen the locking/mounting ring on the back of the lens board. I would first inspect the cocking lever of your lens and make sure there is no damage that is otherwise causing it not travel far enough to cock the lens. If no damage is found this process should work. Only a little bit of movement should be required.

I had the exact same issue with a 4.5/135mm lens and fixed it the way you describe. Slightly unscrew it from the back of the mount, very slightly turn it counterclockwise and tighten it back. Mount it on the camera and check if the shutter fires now. Adjust again if needed. With a spanner and 10 minutes to spare, you are done.
